Lookbook #4 - ROOKIE
KNITTING AND CROCHET
To kick off 2020 we asked Jacqueline from @huisenhaak to help us out with convincing knitters and crocheters to switch discipline. Now Lookbook #4 Rookie is here! Jacqueline designed four patterns for both knitting ánd crocheting.
To practice the basics of knitting and crochet you start with making the SIMPLE SCARF. Then you can go a level up and learn to make special stitches with the CLEAN CLOTHS. To change colors you either make the SIMPLE SCARF or make the FAB CUSHION. If you want to practise increasing the FUNKY FLAGS are the way to go for you!
In each booklet the basics of knitting and crochet are explained and we have made photo tutorials and sketches in each booklet if needed. Our booklets and patterns are a guideline to help you on your way with the basics.
If you find yourself having trouble, we advise you to find videos on YouTube that can help you along.

SIMPLE SCARF
The SIMPLE SCARF is the perfect pattern to learn and practise the basics of crochet or knitting. Next to practising easy stitches you’ll also learn to change color in your work. What are you waiting for? Go make your own SIMPLE SCARF!
You can buy the kit or the pattern only. The kit contains everything you need:
- 5 balls Cheerful
- 1 pattern (for both knitting and crochet)
CLEAN CLOTHS
If you learned the basics of knitting and crochet you are ready for the next level… special stitches! These CLEAN CLOTHS are crocheted in blanket/weave stitch and knitted in moss stitch. With what color do you want to make yours?
You can buy the kit or the digital pattern only. The kit contents:
- 6 balls Epic (2 of each color)
- 1 pattern (for both knitting and crochet)
FAB CUSHION
The FAB CUSHION is perfect for you to practise changing color in your crochet- or knitting projects. Three colors of our FABULOUS yarn and two ways of making this cushion. In what way are you making the FAB CUSHION?

MEET HUIS & HAAK
Jacqueline not only knows how to crochet, she also is a real pro when it comes to knitting. It was at a young age Jacqueline learned to knit and crochet. She was taught by her mom and grandmother and even went along to her mom’s craftclub.
Jacqueline started with making clothes and blankets for her doll and teddybears. As a teen she knitted her own sweaters. She sometimes used an existing pattern but also started to design patterns herself.
It was only a few years ago Jacqueline discovered Instagram, where she can be found as @huisenhaak. She loves to find inspiration and give inspiration to other Instagrammers. Shortly after, she started meeting her Instagram friends in real life and as she says herself: meeting others on knitters- and crocheters party’s is the best!
