Must-Have Mini CAL - Plum
We’ll use color 051 Plum to make… a plum, of course! Or two! This gorgeous deep shade of purple just had to be included in our fruit bowl. How many plums will you make?
Make a few plums with a leaf, and a few plums without a leaf. Or are you up for a real challenge and will you “bake” a delicious clafoutis? Pattern not included ??
There are two colors left that already reveal which fruit they’ll be turned into. Which one are you rooting for? Check back next week and have your crochet hook ready. But first, the plum!
Love, Manon

Plum
Colors: 051 Plum, 007 Cigar and 078 Bottle.
Plum
Make a mr using 051 and sc 6 in the mr.
Round 1: *sc 2 in every st* x 6 (12)
Round 2: *sc 1, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (18)
Bring the cast on tail to the outside through the middle of the mr – to the right side of your work.
Round 3: *sc 2, sc 2 in next st* x 6 (24)
Round 4 - 10: sc 24 around
Round 11: *sc 2, sc2tog* x 6 (18)
Round 12: *sc 1, sc2tog* x 6 (12)
Round 13: *sc2tog* x 6 (6)
Fasten off with a sl st and cut the yarn, leaving an 8” tail.
Baste the yarn through the outer loops (6) of the last round and pull tight.
Pull the yarn downwards through the plum through the middle of these 6 stitches. Pull the yarn through the middle of the mr. Leave the yarn on the outside and insert again (top down) through the plum.
Pull the yarn to create the characteristic line on the plum. Tie a firm knot with the cast on tail and weave in all ends.
Leaf
Ch 8 using 078.
Work around the foundation chain in the front loops.
Sc 2 in 2nd ch from hook, hdc 1, dc 1, hdc 1, sc 1, sl st 1 2x.
Work along the other side of the foundation chain,
Sl st 1 2x, sc 1, hdc 1, dc 1, hdc 1, sc 1 and join with a sl st on top of the ch.
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
Attach the stem and the leaf on top of the plum (at the beginning, so at round 1). Fasten with a tiny stitch and a knot. Weave the ends in.
You can use up colors 030 Red Wine and 083 Peridot, we won’t be needing those later on in the CAL.
We will be using 087 Amazon and 007 Cigar later. Make sure you have enough yarn left in those colors.
